David B. Thompson

David Thompson is the Secretary, Treasurer and CFO of Intelligent Perimeter Systems, Inc. (IPS), a U.S.-based developer and integrator of industrial and homeland security products and services.  In his role, Mr. Thompson oversees all financial operations, including accounting and financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, treasury and capital funds acquisition.  Mr. Thompson has also been a member of IPS’ Board of Directors since its incorporation in 2004.

Mr. Thompson, a recently retired Certified Public Accountant, has been affiliated with the Scherer family businesses since 1973, when he was elected as a Director and appointed Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer.

Prior to his current position as CFO of Intelligent Perimeter Systems, Mr. Thompson spent 5 years as Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive officer of Scherer Companies, which merged into a public company, United Magazine Company (UNIMAG), in 1998.  Mr. Thompson had been a member of UNIMAG’s Board of Directors since 1988.

Mr. Thompson graduated in 1963 with a BS degree in accounting from the University of Detroit.

Mr. Thompson currently lives in Dublin, Ohio, with his wife Barb.  He is an active Director and Officer on numerous accounting, civic and educational boards.
