IPS currently offers three lines of retractable security bollards:

• Medium-Security Model 300
• High-Security Model 400
• High-Security Model 500

These new-to-the-world barriers were developed to address the need for intelligent area denial and perimeter security applications. The Model 300 barriers are capable of stopping a 15,000 lb. vehicle traveling at 30 mph. The K12- and PAS 68-rated Model 400 barriers are certified by governments in the United States and the United Kingdom to stop a 15,000 lb. vehicle traveling at 50 mph. The barriers deploy fully in less than 6 seconds in normal operation mode, and in less than 2 seconds in emergency operation mode. IPS vehicle barriers are self-contained, eliminating the need for a central hydraulic pump station or underground lines.

Each barrier has an independent Parker Hannifin hydraulic power system and all electromechanical components are housed directly next to each barrier, providing environmental protection and ease of access for maintenance or replacement. Model 300, 400 and 500 barrier systems can be operated locally using a panel or keypad, or remotely using high-speed ethernet radio or satellite communication. Remote monitoring of the system is possible through a secure web-enabled interface.

All IPS security barriers are shipped in a pre-fabricated, steel foundation, significantly reducing on site installation requirements and cost. Additionally, the barriers operate on low power (24v) and each barrier has its own independent battery back-up system in case of power outages.
